2025 was a good year for World of Warcraft, played a lot of The War Within expansion. I managed to play the current content for a while, did some delves (up to Tier 11), farmed some reputations and generally had quite a lot of fun. I did spend quite a lot of time doing some battlegrounds and older content as well, finally brought down N’Zoth Mythic solo, and farmed some mounts.

Delving Deeper with Brann Bronzebeard

Delves are the new pillar of content in WoW, basically scenarios or dungeons, which can be played either solo or in a group. I like how they scale up in difficulty (albeit only mob HP and damage scaling). These are fun and entertaining, but they do become boring at some point, a good part being the fact that each delve has a few variants.

Time Is Money, Friend!

Along with the Liberation of Undermine, we fought Jastor Gallywix, which is another Horde leader down. It seems we’re popping them like pills. However, a cool encounter made up for some really nice screenshots.

The Lich King is dead, long live the Lich King!

Lorewalking quests were added recently and they pretty much sum up important parts of the lore in the form of immersive quests, telling tales of the past and revealing things to come. Loved meeting Arthas as the Lich King one more.

N’Zoth is dead

Finally got geared enough to solo the N’Zoth fight and learn its mechanics and it’s a nice warm fuzzy feeling doing this for the mount, as I recall how hard the encounter was when it was current content. Luckily, the mount dropped after the third kill.

Ghosts of K’aresh

Yet another zone with apostrophes in the names, it bridges the link between the Ethereals and the Brokers, in a twist no one saw ever. The area is small, but the “phase” phase is adding up another layer of content in what is a pretty, but underwhelming content update. Pictured me and 3 other players waiting for a phased rare to spawn.

Epic Battlegrounds

Got kind of bored of Epic Battlegrounds, and I’m actually taking a break from them until the next season. However, while the content is not appealing any more, the people I play with some times are worth it. I’m happy to say I made a lot of friends playing these. Pictured: Me, Pew and Backhome in a losing Isle of Conquest. <3

World PvP

World PvP is not actually really PvP when you’re on a server with 95% of the population belonging to the same faction, but it surely offers a good photo opportunity when we’re escorting a crate to its drop spot.

Legion Remix

With the cold weather, the Remix event started, where you can create a “Timerunner” character, which you can level very fast to 80, and then farm gear and Versatility % increments, which bring your character to bonker levels of power. This is fun, but once you get all the achievements, it becomes boring and even being overpowered is not a huge thing when you have no reward. Sure, it’s fun to carry friends in Mythic Raids or Keystones of +49 (and even higher!)

Pictured: getting an Artifact weapon, all the Class Hall standing on salute, gigachads finishing a +49, Murloc team nuking Gul’dan, taming a Felbat, pretty shots of Argus being visible on Azeroth’s sky, Brann Bronzebeard as a Demon Hunter, Illidan rejecting the gift, pretty shots of Argus, the goat gigaship hovering over Argus, a place in Hyjal where men wept.

Housing!

After 21 years since the game was launched, one of the most desired features is now in the game: Player housing. While it’s still in the early access phase, there’s a lot of stuff that’s either broken, missing, or not implemented, but it’s expected for this stage in the development process. I’ve already found some really cool images from other players which show how cool the feature can be.

Brawler’s Guild is Back!

Adter it’s been removed at the end of Battle for Azeroth, about five years ago, this is a well-received returning feature, and while the fights are pretty much the same, but with different scaling, there are some nice mounts and stuff as rewards. I’m sad the trial questline is not making a comeback, but it’s still nice to have it around for a while.

8-Bit WoW

Last, but not least, while playing on a 2013 MacBook Pro, which I sometimes us to farm mounts on rares. I got greeted by an alert telling me that my video card is not compatible anymore. This happens because with each patch, the system requirements of the game get higher, both in terms of hardware and minimum Operating System version. Turning the resolution and the graphics settings to the minimal values, made the game look like an 8-bit Nintendo title.
