A few years ago, I did one of the last “chain letters” tag thingies on facesmash. Since I’ll be soon closing my account, I wanted to leave the images here, so they don’t get lost. Initially, they were 10, but I had to add some honorable mentions. So without ado, here’s the list.
Super Mario Bros
Probably the first game everyone I know played for hours, if not days straight.

The first co-op game I ever played.

Prehistorik2
The first game played on an x86 PC.

Worms Armageddon
Because violence can also be playful and fun.

Half-Life
Because I spent countless nights in multiplayer arenas and because has one of the best storylines in gaming industry. Counter-strike and Half-life 2 are worth mentioning here, as well.

Need For Speed
While I played and enjoyed all NFS games since the first until the 2008 NFS: Undercover, my favourite will always remain NFS: Porsche because of the many multiplayer sessions and evolution/career modes. NFS 2SE, Hot Pursuit 2, Underground (first), Most Wanted (2005) are excellent games as well.

Warcraft III
Probably one of the best real time strategy (RTS) out there. Its expansion, Frozen Throne is excellent as well.

Diablo 2
This was the first RPG I ever played and it gets on the list because never the road to hell and back wasn’t that fun.

Mortal Kombat 4
The fighting game that saw dozens of keyboards get wrecked in player vs player games.

Super Bomberman
It’s always more fun to detonate your friends rather than finding the door towards the next level.

Honorable Mention: FIFA 2000
The first game I played a lot on a Playstation, when there were places where you could rent a PS by the hour and play whatever you wanted. Played it a lot on PC too, spent a birthday night once customizing a team and winning the Champions League with the 1999 Rapid Bucuresti team

Honorable Mention: Command&Conquer: Red Alert 2
Another great RTS, with awesome storylines and great multiplayer battles.

Honorable Mention: Halo
One of the greatest shooters out there. I played the first one when it got out and it was super cool. I still play it now and then.

While Need For Speed is a great franchise, the last games weren’t that great, so I switched to Forza after getting an Xbox One. Playing Forza Horizon was a real treat and then I’ve played each of the Forza Horizon games when they came out, up to (and including) the fifth. I’ve written more about it in a series starting here

I got AC: Syndicate as a birthday gift a few years ago and I really got hooked. I played AC: Origins and AC: Odyssey as well and enjoyed them too. By the time the series got to AC: Valhalla, I got pretty tired of the series.
