After the European tournament of 2000, Romania suffered a dry spell, failing to qualify to WC 2002, Euro 2004 and WC 2006. After a good qualification campaign, Romania was again drawn in a so-called “Group of death” alongside the Netherlands, world champions Italy and France, runners-up in the 2006 World Cup.

After two honourable ties, with France and Italy, Romania lost to the Netherlands and were knocked out of the competition, knowing they did their best out of a very bad situation. The new generation was starting to feel the taste of performance and high level championships. But that would change soon…

I got this album from Rolland as well, because my copy was in a pretty beaten condition and wasn’t really collector-worthy. I will keep it though, next to this one.
