I’ve seen so much idiocy on the internet in the last couple of years in regards to technology that it baffles my mind.

The latest to do so is Eddy Burback with his Youtube video I hate my phone so I got rid of it.

Sure, companies like Meta, X, etc are cancer and apps that make use of the endless scrolling, like TikTok, Instagram, Youtube reels, etc are the fucking worst. But if you’re unable to break the habit of fucking scrolling for one hour (like the dude says at the 1:10 mark in the video), THAT’S YOUR FUCKING PROBLEM.

You don’t need to throw your phone in the bin, you don’t need to revert to 1990s tech and you don’t need to return to monke.

Look, I love me some retro tech, it’s cool, it’s got the nostalgia factor and everything looks pretty when you look at it through rose-tinted glasses. I’ve had my share of playing with a lot of gadgets, be it phones, computers, cameras (photo or video), audio cassette players, I get it. I know why using retro stuff is cool. But whenever I’m using a retro tool, I’m stopping at the moment where I lose real life functionality.

Remember kids, technology is a tool and we need to know how to use it properly. If we’re not using it for our benefit, then we need to find better ways to make ourselves better, and use it better. We don’t need to reject progress just because we’re too idiotic to control ourselves.

For the love of progress, please stop being retarded monkeys.
