I was talking earlier about Dune Prophecy and how the production seems to suffer from the most-recent fad in cinematography, the brown filter of shit, that makes it literally unwatchable if you don’t have dolby surround 69bit HDR capabilities. Some of us just want to watch shit on our older devices as well.

However, there’s a fairly simple and fast way to fix this in VLC, while playing a video.

From the menu go to Window -> Video Effects (Cmd+E on Mac, probably Ctrl+E on other platforms), tick the Image Adjust checkbox, then bump the Saturation and Gamma sliders as desired (by more than half in my example) until you’re happy with the results. Ta-da!
