Yesterday I had the smart (read “retarded”) idea of upgrading the OS on my Mac Mini from Big Sur to Sonoma. Worst. Decision. Ever.
What I noticed in the 3 days I used it:
- System Preferences is now called System Settings and it’s similar to iOS and it’s borked beyond recognition. It has some shitty search that works almost never as it should be.
- Some programs simply don’t work anymore. For example Coda opens and connects to some servers properly. When connecting to other servers, it just throws an error that the app is not compatible and it crashes.
- Photoshop crashes constantly and yells that it’s “unlicensed”. Duh.
- The OS “forgot” somehow that the Epson L3250 also has an image scanner.
All in all, I see Apple’s Software departments are lagging way behind their hardware counterparts (mostly they’re retarded and do software decisions that baffle common sense).
Next time, I will know better. My laptop will remain on macOS Ventura (the one that shipped with the unit) and I’m pretty sure I’ll never touch macOS Sonomabitch.
The first step though, is to wipe my computer clean and revert to Mojave. Yay!
