After a 16-year long beauty sleep, the black ram is back to plough the fields with renewed energy. But not that of the senile shepherd Lars, but of his countless other sheep. Because after such a long wait, Sven has built up pressure. A lot of pressure!
As I said in the review of the original games, in 2023, the game has been revived, updated with new graphics and new levels. I won’t talk too much about the game, it’s definitely betting on the nostalgia factor, and probably most of the people playing it are the ones that played th original many years ago, so they were familiar with the gameplay, lore, story and universe. With artstyle and gameplay true to the original, for a moment you forget you’re now 30+, and the awesome part is that it works (and it’s optimized) with the SteamDeck, so getting it is easy peasy. Playing on the simplest difficulty, more to experience the levels and mechanics of the game, it’s a fun and sometimes a bit challenging trip, with a lot of laughs and a lot of sheep to mate.
I was a bit on the edge when I saw the release, because I didn’t think it was worth 15 euros, but I got lucky to catch a promotional offer for 80% off, so I guess sales aren’t going too well, that’s why I decided to gift it to a few friends, to support the developers. Regardless of how much one pays for the game, it’s still about 2 and a half hours of good fun if you play casually, a bit more if you want to go for big scores and get all the achievements. All in all, definitely a fun game with good replayability.
Five joysticks and I wonder how the fuck am I going to be able to play this on the SteamDeck on the plane.
