Released in 2002, Sven Bømwøllen is a video game series of humorous German games, developed by Phenomedia, all concerning the sexual behaviour of the titular character, a black sheep named Sven Bømwøllen.
You either played this a lot when you were a kid, or you have no idea what this is about. You’re basically a sheep trying to fuck other sheep, while running away from the dog (Wøtan) and the shepherd (Lars Einnicken). So you’re basically playing a teenager. The gameplay is fast and funny, as it shows various sexual positions, a very deep and very funny thing when you’re fourteen. Or forty, whatever.
I got this game from a friend of mine who brought it from Germany, where it was hugely popular, and we played the first three games over a few summers, as we managed to find them. This is the second game made by Phenomedia which became famous in Romania, after a local mobile operator (Vodafone, named Connex at the time) released Prepelix, a clone of Moorhuhn (I will write about this soon).
While it’s silly and stupid, this is not a game to be taken seriously. Unless bragging about the high-scores. That comes with bragging rights, duh. All in all, it was and still is a really funny game when you want to relax and it’s a bit sad that the morons on twitter would cancel this game in 2023 for women objectification and some other weird shit. Seven joysticks, and it goes into something I’d like to call “Gaming Vault”, because it definitely lands on my old gaming laptop.
More info about the game can be found on Wikipedia and an archived version of the game’s homepage, but if you want to download and play it (along with CD covers and a making of PDF), you can download it from the download link below. You can also download the PDF separately. As I’ve written below, the files come with no warranty, I didn’t alter them and they come as I found them on a private torrent tracker. My scans showed these to be safe, but I don’t know what malicious software might be hidden inside them, so make sure you sandbox and quarantine the environment where you install them. I consider these to be abandonware, but in case Phenomedia wants them taken down, they can email me.
