When I first saw this one, I thought it was AI generated, but nope. This product actually existed and was for sale, in this early 2000s transparent teal. Could go well with the Bondi Blue iMac G3!
After a quick search, I found another one on ebay, this time in red!
With a bit of searching, I’ve located a third colour, a purple one.
The three models I found for this are:
- VR400G - Teal
- VR400RC - Red
- VR400PC - Purple
It seems that most of the controls are on the remote, as this product is aimed at kids, even having a child lock on the tape door. However it’s a nice thing to have and I hope to get across one sometime. However, all the models I’ve seen have 120V AC input, and writing in English and French on the label, so I assume this model was sold only in North America, so if you manage to find one nearby, you know what I want for Christmas.
