The game has been released in Early Access!! Although it’s not completed yet, you can buy it and help the guys develop it. This is a really nice game, I really loved playing the pilot, can’t wait for the rest.
Early Access provides us a valuable chance to connect with players and actively involve them in the development process. We plan to release bi-monthly updates, and we’ve been very receptive to constructive feedback so far. This regular update cadence will help us stay connected with players and continuously enhance the game experience.
Currently, we have completed the first episode, The Pilot, and we plan for the full version to include up to three additional episodes. These additional episodes are expected to introduce new locations, NPCs, characters, puzzles, and other content to enrich the gameplay experience.
The Early Access currently includes the “Pilot” episode, which is the first of four planned episodes.
The Pilot consists of the prologue (available as a free demo), the post-prologue (gameplay covering the first half of the house), and an end stinger cinematic that will lead into Episode 2 once that is completed.

“Midnight Special” is a point-and-click survival horror game inspired by classic 90s LucasArts titles like “Clock Tower” and “Resident Evil”. Set in the late 80s at Boyd Manor, you play as Sarah, who’s been tasked with babysitting Jon and Eli Boyd for the night.
What starts out as a routine evening takes a sinister turn when the power suddenly cuts out, leaving the house shrouded in darkness. As you navigate through the decrepit mansion to unravel the mystery of the children’s disappearance, bizarre events unfold before your eyes: bizarre phone calls, a deranged stalker perhaps? Unpleasant odors coming from beneath the floorboards. Inanimate objects coming to life. A life-size talking plastic dinosaur?
Has Sarah lost her mind?
Made by a very good friend of mine, this is also a simple, dark, scary and anxiety inducing game. At the moment there’s only a free playable demo, but as you can see for yourself, it sets the tone pretty well and it’s shaping up to be a really nice slow burning, mysterious and hair-rising game. After playing the demo for about 30 minutes, I can say I am waiting for the full game to be released, even though I’m not a huge fan of horrors (be it in movies, games, or whatever else).
The simplicity of the gameplay as well as the retro vibe (love those scanlines!!) transport you back to the 80s and feels both retro and modern at the same time. All in all, four out of five joysticks for now, maybe the full game will get an extra one. Also, you’ll have to excuse my uncropped screenshots and enjoy the promo shots below.
Read more about the game on their itch.io page and you can also add it to your wishlist on Steam! Also make sure to subscribe to the DevLog RSS Feed, I know I am! Also keep in mind that this is only o preview of the game and things might change.
One more thing, as we live in 2024 and you need to mention this fucking thing, I am not paid to write about this (or anything else), I just do it because the game is cool and deserves to be promoted.
