Probably the best TV series that ever existed. Blending comedy and drama in a masterful way, MAS*H has endured the test of time. The friendship and camaraderie between the characters, the acting, everything is excellent in this TV series. The kind of show where the characters become part of your life and you feel like you know them for a lifetime.
Not only a great series, but maybe it has one of the best final episodes that a series ever had. Dramatic, funny, wrapping up everything and carving it into your heart.
The show is turning 50 today, a half a century for a series that will remain in history.
Hawkeye: War isn’t Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.
Father Mulcahy: How do you figure that, Hawkeye?
Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?
Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe.
Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them — little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.
