Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. Embark on a journey through familiar and new locations as you explore and discover magical beasts, customize your character and craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents and become the wizard you want to be.
Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it. Live the Unwritten.
As I said about movies some while ago, we know to make pretty stuff, not good stuff. The open world of Hogwarts Legacy is huge and very pretty, but it gets muddy bland and boring very fast. It’s not a bad game, but it’s not something to grab my attention and invest the 30-40 hours to finish the main storyline.
I managed to play about 15 hours in total and the quests become boring and I couldn’t be invested in any of the storylines. There’s nothing that made me actually care about, be it a storyline or a character. The broom riding mechanic is very bad, the quests get boring, the dialogue is bland and I couldn’t bear myself to push further into the game. All in all, it’s a very good looking game, the music is absolutely fantastic and the world design, both inside Hogwarts and the surrounding little villages is very pretty. But that’s about it.
Three joysticks because it might be decent, but also the hype around it is too big, in my opinion. Also, I’m lucky I got it during the winter sale at a very cheap price (18 euro) as opposed to the full 60 euros, which is way too much for what the game has to offer.
