We got kicked out by a better Netherlands team who also got lucky. They had better fitness, bigger players and we tried our best against them. We leave Euro 2024 with a great result and with a great team. We went further than anyone hoped and we did well. We gave our best and coming from a country where team owners decide the starting 11, where almost no one is putting money in football schools, it’s more than expected. The beautiful dream has ended, but Romania’s team returns home with their heads up and in the sound of applause.
