Last week I went to meet some friends for a nice chill in their garden, and because Eliza, Iulia’s mom knows how much I love my hometown (spoiler alert, we all do!), and knowing that I was collecting some books related to the town, she gave me a few promotional items that were released by the City Hall Tourism Center while I was living in the UK.

Among this, a series of postcards which I will scan and put below and a three-panel mini-book, called “Câmpina - A History In Dates” that showcases some of the most important events in the city’s history along some of the nicest touristic objectives and some old images.

I know this post is short, but I promise to update it soon with more Câmpina-related things.

Postcards

This is a postcard folding booklet, and features the following photographs:

  • Câmpina Town Hall Building
  • “Nicolae Grigorescu” Memorial Home
  • “Julia Hasdeu” Castle
  • Church Lake
  • Câmpina at the beginning of the 20th Century (probably 1920s)
  • “Carol I” street (probably 1920s)
  • Câmpina at the beginning of the 20th Century (probably 1910s)

Câmpina - A History In Dates

This is a three-panel booklet on square glossy A4 paper, I don’t know much about when it was printed, but it offers a quick overview of what the town has to offer and a brief history

From these, we can extract some links for further reading:
