After his home is conquered by the tyrannical emperors who now lead Rome, Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum and must look to his past to find strength to return the glory of Rome to its people.

Something something gladiator sequel, where of course the lost prisoner is someone important because everyone saw that coming from 500 miles away. Otherwise, it’s a pretty movie, but don’t look for reasoning or decent writing, because it ain’t none. Also having Denzel play the role of some high roller something, during a time where his people would be thrown to the lions systematically is really hard to believe. Four popcorns because of Pedro Pascal and because while bad, it does it job at entertaining for a couple of hours.

During the war in Bosnia, two childhood friends eventually become enemies, as the tragic and devastating circumstances of the war put them on the opposite sides and expose the most gruesome and cruel aspects of the human nature.

This is not an easy to watch movie. It shows the raw brutality of war and the dehumanization of our species in belligerent times. Five popcorns because every life lost on a battlefield should be a lesson for the others. Great recommendation from 3enit.

The Balkan countries have had it hard during the 90s, but none as hard as Yugoslavia. This dark comedy shows life with its ups and downs in a society that rapidly fell apart. Great stories, well acted, filmed and directed. Six popcorns and it jumps into the Movie Vault, next to the other recommendations from 3enit. Pitchkas ti materenu!

Fictional miniseries based on the life of Ayrton Senna da Silva, the Brazilian racing legend who won the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship three times.

Mini series about probably the best Formula One driver in history, Ayrton Senna. It’s very well done and actor Gabriel Leone plays Ayrton very well. While having its roots planted in real events, it’s not a documentary and it shouldn’t be treated like one. But it’s a very good insight into the life and career of a great driver.

Good thriller with a nice touch of mystery. Well acted, well written, with a pacing that’s not slow, but not very fast either, is a story that beautifully unfolds in front of our eyes. Four popcorns and it goes into the Movie Vault, next to the other recommendations from 3enit.

Just an ordinary urban Belgrade night - two friends are trying to get their money back from their school friend, whom they bullied when they were kids. Gojko Sisa does not forget the old enemies so easy.

Belgrade in the nineties. For two friends, Pop and Mare, this is just one night in a series of many similar ones. The two of them handed over their demo audio cassette to former schoolmate Gojko, so that he could make a CD for them for 350 German marks.

Radivoj Andrić’s teenage rock comedy was once a real blockbuster in Serbian cinemas, it was seen by more than 600 thousand viewers, and critics called it “Belgrade graffiti”. Over the years, she hasn’t lost any of her youthful charm and rebelliousness, and the strong asset of the film is certainly the still young, but now already renowned cast led by Sergej Trifunović.

Great modern comedy, falling somewhere between Emir Kusturica and Guy Ritchie, blending perfectly in a cult movie. Five popcorns and it goes into the Movie Vault, and is one of my favourite movies recommended by 3enit.

The Topalovic family has been in the burial business for generations. When the old (150 yrs old) Pantelija dies, five generations of his heirs start to fight for the inheritance.

Another great Serbian comedy (again starring Bora Todorović among others. Great story, great jokes, all in all another great recommendation from 3enit. Four popcorns and goes into the Movie Vault.

It’s April 5, 1941, somewhere in Serbia. A group of people go on a bus to Belgrade, on a journey that will change their lives forever.

Excellent dark comedy in the classic Serbian style. It’s a great comedy which reminds me a bit of the Romanian movies of the early 90s. Another great pick by 3enit, also starring Bora Todorović among others. Six popcorns and goes into the Movie Vault.

Another great fun comedy from our Serbian neighbours. Excellent movie and a really good watch, the second movie with Bora Todorović from the list recommended by 3enit

Two teams, lead by their team leader (either Lee Mack or David Mitchell), have to try and make the other team believe their crazy stories.

Another brilliant British comedy panel show where people try to confuse the other team if they’re lying or not. Lee Mack and David Mitchell are absolutely bonkers and Rob Brydon is great at hosting this. Seven popcorns and it goes into the Movie Vault, as it’s always a great laugh.

After the collapse of the Yugoslavian government, a former secret agent, now a taxi driver, enters the office of a former university professor, now a firm director.

One of the greatest Serbian movies showing the connection between two seemingly unconnected people. It’s an excercise in Balkan culture and is not only funny, but also entertaining. Five popcorn and goes into the Movie Vault. Recommended by 3enit.
