The Stunt Man (1980)
A fugitive stumbles onto a movie set just when they need a new stunt man, takes the job as a way to hide out and falls for the leading lady while facing off with his manipulative director.
Good interesting movie about a fugitive that has to become a stuntman to escape the cops that were chasing him. All in all, a gdecent movie about making movies, and even though it has some great scenes and camera work, it often feels disjointed, like the kid who made the editing had ADHD. Three popcorns.

The Natural (1984)
A middle-aged unknown comes seemingly out of nowhere to become a legendary baseball player with almost supernatural talent.
Excellent drama/sports movie, and even though I’m not into baseball, it’s interestingly done. Starring a great deal of A-listers, like R Robert Redford, Robert Duvall, Glenn Close, and directed by Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Good Morning Vietnam), it tells a nice fantasy story about success, failure and backbone. Five popcorns and although I’m not a baseball fan, I understand why this is considered to be one of the greatest sports-related movies.

Mystic River (2003)
The tragic murder of a 19-year-old girl reunites three childhood friends still living in Boston–the victim’s gangster father, a detective, and the disturbed man they both suspect of killing her.
Sad, raw, real. The acting is top notch, both Sean Penn and Tim Robbins got an Oscar for it, the direction by Clint Eastwood is magnificent and the story keeps you on the edge of the seat for all the 2 hours and 18 minutes. Six popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
A family determined to get their young daughter into the finals of a beauty pageant take a cross-country trip in their VW bus.
Excellent little quirky comedy with a lot of drama elements, a good coming of age movie with a great cast and good writing. The ending is a bit unexpected, but it somehow tries to make a point and succeeds. Four popcorns.
PS: As a minor spoiler, at the end, Olive jumps by herself in the van, without any help. That’s such a great and subtle detail of how she took one step further in life.

Good sci-fi flick about mixing an alien invasion and corporate greed. It’s a nice take on an old story about greed and society. Four popcorns.
