Shantaram (2022-)
A heroin addict incarcerated for a robbery escapes prison and reinvents himself as a doctor in the slums of Bombay; his ties to the crime underworld there lead him to Afghanistan, where he partners with a mob boss locked in a battle with Russian criminals.
Good TV show from Apple tv+, locations are excellent, cinematography is great, and the music is very good. Charlie Hunnam does a great role. Five episodes are out so far and it’s a binge-worthy show.
Five popcorns.

The Watcher (2022)
A married couple moving into their dream home are threatened by terrifying letters from a stalker, signed - “The Watcher.”
Based on the real-life case, beginning in 2014, of the Broaddus family, who were spied on, threatened, and ultimately driven to sell their home & leave the town they loved, by a mysterious stalker who identified themselves only as “The Watcher” in the letters sent to Mr & Mrs Broaddus.
This is a pretty well made suspense mini-series. The critics bombed it, which means it’s actually good. It grabs your attention in the first few minutes and it will make you binge it. Could this have been better? Maybe. Is it good enough to worth watching it? Well, it’s got Naomi Watts and Stifler’s mom in it, so definitely.
Four popcorns.

Cunk on Shakespeare (2016)
The character from Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe (2013) presents a mockumentary about William Shakespeare, talking us through his life and works in her own unique style.
Philomena Cunk takes a look at Shakespeare, exploring why his writing is so popular to this day, and looks at the variety of his work.
A wonderful combination, the writing skills of Charlie Brooker, the talent of Diane Morgan, and the iconic figure of William Shakespeare.
It’s the originality that I enjoy so much, I can’t think of any other character who’s quite like Philomena, Morgan is so good, so natural, so very funny. It’s the absurdity that’s so good. Six popcorns.

Cunk on Earth (2022-)
Philomena Cunk (from Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe) knows absolutely nothing about anything, but that won’t stop her attempting to present a ground-breaking documentary about it. Philomena always asking the questions no one dares to pose. The greatest journalist ever.
Tells the story of our greatest inventions such as the wheel, the Mona Lisa and nuclear power. Along the way, she will ask experts hard-hitting questions about humanityโs progress, as well as standing near impressive old ruins, or inside museums.
Following the great format of Cunk on Britain, Philomena goes to travel the world, giving great information about the history of the Earth.
This is just as dumb as its predecessor, it’s even funnier, and it has a shitload of locations filmed. Six popcorns.

Babylon Berlin: Season 4 (2017-)
Colognian commissioner Gereon Rath moves to Berlin, the epicenter of political and social changes in the Golden Twenties.
This is a wonderful TV series, the atmosphere is great, the locations are superb, the casting and music are excellently done. The story, while a bit of a slow burn, unfolds very nice.
Six popcorns and it definitely goes to the Movie Vault when it’s finished.

Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes (2022)
This three-part documentary series from director Joe Berlinger explores the warped mind of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer through newly-unearthed recorded interviews with his legal team, revealing the ways that race, sexuality, class and policing allowed him to prey upon Milwaukeeโs marginalized communities.
After the great series about Jeffrey Dahmer, there’s another good Netflix documentary about a serial killer. Four popcorns.

Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (2022)
Never-before-heard audio from the interrogation of serial killer Ted Bundy threads through this chilling look at his 1970s murder spree.
Another good Netflix documentary about a serial killer, this time about the charm of some serial killers AND police inability to react properly. Four popcorns.

Vesper (2022)
After the collapse of Earth’s ecosystem, Vesper, a 13-year-old girl struggling to survive with her Father, must use her wits, strength and bio-hacking abilities to fight for the future.
This is a slow burning sci-fi set in a dystopian future, showing the sad and ugly part of a cyberpunk/steampunk universe. A harsh, bleak look at the world progress left behind. It’s somehow Elysium, but without all the action scenes and without Matt Damon.
It’s violent, it’s harsh, it’s gloomy to the point of depression, but it feels realistic. Four popcorns
Oh, Vesper, you don’t know the cost of dreams.

Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Abandoned by her family, Kya Clark, otherwise known to the townspeople of Barkley Cove as the Marsh Girl, is mysterious and wild. “Where the Crawdads Sing” is a coming-of-age story of a young girl raised by the marshlands of the south in the 1950s. When the town hotshot is found dead, and inexplicably linked to Kya, the Marsh Girl is the prime suspect in his murder case.
It’s a well written movie, the acting is pretty good and it adds up to good drama. The story is layered very nice and kept me hooked until the end. Also, the main movie’s song, Carolina, written and performed by Taylor Swift is a nice gem. Four popcorns.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever (2022)
A man’s story of leaving New York in 1967 to bring beer to his childhood buddies in the Army while they are fighting in Vietnam.
A movie about discovering what war really means. Every fucking pro-war person should see this and understand the horrors and destruction war is.
A+ for the soundtrack, the cinematography and the acting. Five popcorns.
