A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic quest to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.
Good fantasy movie, with a lot of fun effects, good CGI and pretty action packed. Chris Pine and Michelle Rodrigues lead the cast very well, and Hugh Grant does a great job as playing the antagonist. All in all, five popcorns.

And with 4857% more “bro”. All in all, the visuals are brilliant, the music is amazing and it’s a really good movie. Five smurf, err popcorn. Also it is blue end blue on de ting.

Fast X (2023)
The end of the road begins.
Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast & Furious Saga, launches the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises, now in its third decade and still going strong with the same core cast and characters as when it began.
Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.
In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante (Aquaman’s Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price.
Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own 8-year-old son (Leo Abelo Perry, Black-ish) is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance.
Directed by Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titans, The Incredible Hulk), Fast X stars returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena and Scott Eastwood, with Oscar® winner Helen Mirren and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron.
The film also features an extraordinary new cast including Oscar® winner Brie Larson as Tess, a rogue representative from the Agency; Alan Richtson (Reacher) as Aimes, the new head of the Agency who doesn’t hold the same fondness for Dom’s crew as his predecessor, Mr. Nobody; Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) as a Brazilian street racer with a powerful tie to Dom’s past; and legendary Oscar® winner Rita Moreno as Dom and Mia’s Abuelita Toretto.
Excellent boom boom pew pew movie. Just as you’d expect it, the story is crap, the credibility as well, the boom boom is a lot, the pew pew is even better, enemies turn friends because the enemy of my enemy is a plot device, cars, chicks, some racing, pew pew, brazil, Jason Momoa wearing purple as a chaotic Joker-esque psychopathic villain. Visual delight, good blockbuster fun. Five popcorns. Pew pew.

Imagini din vis // Dream Images (2016)
It was 1978 and the Romanian dictator Ceausescu was in control of the country. Artists were being prosecuted and isolated due to their “unacceptable” background and views. Amongst them stood the extremely talented musician Rodion Rosca. Although he was a radio star, his debut album was never released.
This is a sad movie, I fucking bawled my eyes out. It tells the story of the genius of a very talented musician and how the entire world forgot him. A pioneer and a visionary, Rodion happened to be born in communist Romania. This is not your glam rockstar documentary, it’s quite the opposite. It’s not about Rodion Rosca the artist, but about Rodion Rosca the human. A documentary about a simple man that never forgot how to love the simple things and everyone and everything around him, his passions and hobbies, regardless of how many punches life threw at him. It was an honour meeting him and I can say for sure that he had a positive impact on many persons. A very good documentary about a great man, a must see.
🖤
PS: If you’re interested about his music (and you should be!) take a look at the Artist Spotlight about him I wrote a while ago.

Black Snake Moan (2008)
A God-fearing bluesman takes to a wild young woman who, as a victim of childhood sexual abuse, looks everywhere for love, never quite finding it.
Samuel L. Jackson playing the blues? Half-naked Christina Ricci chained to a radiator? Justin Timberlake as a failed jarhead? Sign me up! One of the best movies I’ve recently seen, gets six popcorns and gets into the Movie Vault.

Screamers (1995)
A military commander stationed off planet during an interplanetary war travels through the devastated landscape to negotiate a peace treaty, but discovers that the primitive robots they built to kill enemy combatants have gained sentience.
Great sci-fi drama/thriller. The pacing is good, the enemy is believable and the entire experience is worth the time. A good movie turned into a cult movie. All in all, five popcorn and jumps into the Movie Vault.

When a tragic accident cuts short the first manned mission to explore life on the moons of Jupiter, Michael Forrest must make the 3 year journey home to Earth in pure solitude.
Great slow burning space drama about loneliness in space. Excellently acted, written and scored, as most movies with a small casst confined to a small space is. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

Rams (2018)
“Rams’ is the new documentary by filmmaker Gary Hustwit (Helvetica) about legendary designer Dieter Rams. For over fifty years, Rams has left an indelible mark on the field of product design with his iconic work at Braun and Vitsoe, and his influence on Apple. “Rams” is a design documentary, but it’s also a rumination on consumerism, materialism, and sustainability. Dieter’s philosophy is about more than just design, it’s about a way to live. The film also features an original score by pioneering musician Brian Eno.
Excellent documentary about Jony Ive Dieter Rams. Definitely watch it. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault. If you want to see it, support the filmmakers.

A bride’s wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game.

Timecrimes // Los Cronocrimenes (2007)
A man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.
This is a movie I’ve been putting away for ages, it’s a good drama sci-fi movie about time travel. It’s twisted, bendy and layered and will make you think “wtf” pretty much the entire time, and even at the end. If you’re stupid, like me, check this detailed explanation, with spoilers. Five popcorns.

Freejack (1992)
Bounty hunters from the future transport a doomed race car driver to New York City in 2009, where his mind will be replaced with that of a dead billionaire.
With a huge cast of A-list actors plus Mick Jagger, Freejack manages to impress not only with good acting and good dystopian future, but also with music, tension and writing. Directed by Geoff Murphy (The Quiet Earth), it feels like any classic late 80s - early 90s sci-fi movie, on par with Total Recall, Blade Runner, or Escape from New York. All in all, five popcorns and it’s one for the Movie Vault.
- What was it they called me?
- Pathetic?
- No, a freejack.
