Directed, written and soundtracked by Plan B, with Riz Ahmed (Four Lions, Sound of Metal) as the lead actor, this is a good movie about crime in the UK, showing the life of some people that went down the dark alley of life. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

Great drama/thriller starring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett and Philip Seymour Hoffman with a very well written story (based on the best selling novel of Patricia Highsmith), featuring beautiful filming locations in Italy. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

Great comedy/heist movie in one of the freshest and funniest roles of Bruce Willis. Also starring Danny Aiello, Andie MacDowell, David Caruso, Sandra Bernhard, it’s fast-paced, well-written and very entertaining for an evening inside. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

The Andromeda Strain (1971)
A team of top scientists work feverishly in a secret, state-of-the-art laboratory to discover what has killed the citizens of a small town and learn how this deadly contagion can be stopped.
Fantastic 70s science-fiction movie about investigating an outbreak of alien provenience. Based on the universally-acclaimed novel by Michael Crichton, the father of the techno-triller genre (and director of the original Westworld movie), it’s tense, it’s well paced, well filmed and leaves a strong mark. This is also due to the fact that this masterpiece is directed by Robert Wise (director of West Side Story, The Sound of Music or The Haunting, Star Trek). Six popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

Lord of the Flies (1990)
Stranded on an island, a group of schoolboys degenerate into savagery.
Didn’t read the book, so I can’t compare, but the movie was ok-ish. Not life changing, some kids doing shit stuff because they don’t know better. Two popcorns.

Metronom (2022)
Romania, the autumn of the year 1972. Ana, a 17 year-old teenager, finds out that her boyfriend will flee the country for good in a few days. The two lovers decide to spend their last days together.
Bucharest, 1972. Ana, 17, dreams of love and freedom. One night, while partying with her friends, they decide to send a letter to Metronom, the musical program which Radio Free Europe broadcasts clandestinely in Romania. And then everything falls apart. With a slow tempo, good soundtrack and long uninterupted scenes, this movie is not only about what happens, but also about how the characters feel. And while at some point it looks surrealist or blown out of proportion, but it’s just the reality of the communist regime of that era, where the State Police would round up youngsters for long hair or listening to Led Zeppellin. Five popcorns.

Gia (1998)
The story of the life of Gia Carangi, a top fashion model from the late 1970s, from her meteoric rise to the forefront of the modeling industry, to her untimely death.
This movie is connected to a dear memory of mine. This was the first movie I ever saw on HBO when I was 14. Seeing it now, seeng all the familiar faces (Mila Kunis as young Gia, Juliet from Lost as Gia’s love interest), this is as good as I remembered it. Moreover, the unrated version has even more nudity. Five popcorns and gets into the Movie Vault.

American Psycho (2000)
A wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.
Good horror movie which shows some insight into the killer’s mind. We travel with him, we see the things through his eyes and the insanity he’s capable of. Four stars.

Babylon A.D. (2008)
Veteran-turned-mercenary Toorop takes the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to America. Little does he know that she is host to an organism that a cult wants to harvest in order to produce a genetically modified Messiah.
A box-office flop, just like any good cult movie, this is basically Children of Men, but with Vin Diesel and WHOA! Michelle Yeoh, before she was super famous. Melanie Thierry does a good role in this dystopian survival movie. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault, because something something family.
