Movies
Gia (1998)
The story of the life of Gia Carangi, a top fashion model from the late 1970s, from her meteoric rise to the forefront of the modeling industry, to her untimely death.
This movie is connected to a dear memory of mine. This was the first movie I ever saw on HBO when I was 14. Seeing it now, seeng all the familiar faces (Mila Kunis as young Gia, Juliet from Lost as Gia’s love interest), this is as good as I remembered it. Moreover, the unrated version has even more nudity. Five popcorns and gets into the Movie Vault.

A wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.
Good horror movie which shows some insight into the killer’s mind. We travel with him, we see the things through his eyes and the insanity he’s capable of. Four stars.

Babylon A.D. (2008)
Veteran-turned-mercenary Toorop takes the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to America. Little does he know that she is host to an organism that a cult wants to harvest in order to produce a genetically modified Messiah.
A box-office flop, just like any good cult movie, this is basically Children of Men, but with Vin Diesel and WHOA! Michelle Yeoh, before she was super famous. Melanie Thierry does a good role in this dystopian survival movie. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault, because something something family.

Coffee and Cigarettes (2003)
A series of vignettes that all have coffee and cigarettes in common.
Coffee And Cigarettes is a collection of eleven films from cult director Jim Jarmusch. Each film hosts star studded cast of extremely unique individuals who all share the common activities of conversing while drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. The movie brings together a ton of A-list actors doing good roles (mad props to Cate Blanchett playing the two roles). There’s more talk and less action, but the movie is enjoyable as it helps you peer into the lives of various people. Five popcorns.

Spun (2002)
A drug dealer introduces one of his customers, a ‘speed freak’, to the man who runs the meth lab. A crazy three-day adventure ensues.
The film blends elements of dark comedy and drama in its storytelling. Its title is a reference to the slang term for the way users feel after going multiple days without sleep while on a meth binge. The acting is great and I damn miss Brittany Murphy. Also Debbie Harry (Blondie singer) is amazing. Five popcorns.

Burn After Reading (2008)
A disk containing mysterious information from a CIA agent ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous and daft gym employees who attempt to sell it.
It’s not often that a movie with so many A-listers ends up to be a good movie, but this one however manages it. It’s a good dramedy by the Coen Brothers, gets five popcoens as it’s fun and enjoyable from start to end.
