‘La Passione’ is a modern classic, with both contemporary and orchestral pieces sewn together by a film clip for each track and a story loosely based on dreams Chris had as a young boy growing up in the industrial North East.
Part dream, part documentary, a tale of 10-year-old northern boy, the son of an Italian immigrant ice-cream making family, who develops a lifelong obsession with motor racing and especially with the real-life racer Wolfgang Von Trips. Brilliant movie, gets six popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.
This is effectively a ‘Director’s Cut’ of La Passione audio with Rea, apparently, always unhappy with the version released originally due to different creative visions between him and the label.
Neither DVD contains the actual movie. The first has re-edited original and new short films to complement the music along with an interview with Chris between each piece. Also included on this disc are new pieces on the Dino and GTO Ferrari’s with new soundtracks to each.
