At an elegant Parisian bordello at the dawn of the 20th century exists a cloistered world of pleasure, pain, hope, rivalries–and, most of all, slavery.
Some people keep complaining about the lack of plot in this movie, and they are not wrong. While not a bad movie, it’s not a movie at all, it’s like a painting that keeps moving for a couple of hours and then nothing. The costumes and the music are actually really nice, and the realistic view on the world of brothels and the people inside them is nice. But without a proper story, the movie seems bland, and not even the excess of nudity can make this interesting. Two popcorns.
