In the year 6470, a husband and wife team receive a mysterious distress signal. They leave their son on board ship to search for the missing astronaut, but fate intervenes, their ship crashes, leaving their son alone - or is he?
Retrofuturist animation also known as “Ultima Misiune” (“The Last Mission”) based on “The Jungle Book”, but in a futuristic alien setting. It’s nicely animated, and benefits of great bvoice acting by Mircea Albulescu, Ion Caramitru, Virgil Ogasanu, Marcel Iures and the unmistakable Alexandrina Halic, while the music is excelently done by Stefan Elefteriu. Brilliantly mixing “The Empire Strikes Back”, “Alien” and “Tarzan”, it’s a great sci-fi flick with a very electronic music soundtrack and a lot of symbolism and abstract visuals. Five stars and jumps into the Movie Vault.
