This movie is insane. It is a good satire regarding the world we’re currently living in. Some compared it to the Coronavirus pandemic, some say that it’s about global warming. It doesn’t even matter, but what’s for sure is that this movie promises a lot with its huge budget and the myriad of A-listers (Leonardo DiCaprio, Ron Perlman, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Jonah Hill, Rob Morgan, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, Kid Cudi, and Ariana Grande. I mean wow.
The movie has drawn upon it a ton of attention, either praise or criticism, most likely due to marketing budgets and the general stupidity of the human race. While it’s a good movie, it’s definitely not The Shawshank Redemption. It’s not very bad either, it’s somewhere in between, very good if you want to have a good laugh. If you were hoping for a lesson in humanity or something else, you’ll just be disappointed. This movie is made to entertain, not to educate.
Later edit: I’ve seen that this movie has got an Oscar Nomination for best picture. Best satire since Idiocracy? Maybe. Oscar-worthy? Not really.
