When a local man turns up dead on the beach, two vastly different detectives are thrown together to solve the case, fastidious local senior sergeant Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and a rough-as-guts blow-in from Darwin, senior investigator Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) along with their overeager junior constable Abby (Nina Oyama). As the town prepares to launch the annual arts, food, and culture event—Winter Feastival—the trio must put their differences aside and work together to find the killer.
Starts a bit slowly and Eddie is very very very annoying in the first three episodes and almost made me quit the show. However, if you power through the first three episodes (which are not bad, just a bit annoying), the show really finds its pace and tone and makes Eddie a way better character. All in all, I’m giving the show five popcorns because it adds up nicely and in the end turns out to be a really goot show. Watch it, it’s filmed in Tasmania and looks really nice.
