Money Shot: The Pornhub Story (2023)
Follow the rise of the most famous adult entertainment platform and the recent backlash it has received. Featuring interviews with performers, activists and past employees, this documentary offers a deep dive into the successes and scandals of Pornhub.
This is not necessarily a documentary, but a real-life-based show. It features some testimonies from people that were involved and affected by the demonetization of PornHub, and it shows, as always, that all the roads go to Rome corporate greed. Three popcorns.

Diarios de motocicleta // The Motorcycle Diaries (2004)
The dramatization of a motorcycle road trip Che Guevara went on in his youth that showed him his life’s calling.
Excellent movie about the early years of Ernesto “Che” Guevara, giving some insight on the introspective journey that made him fundamentally change the way he viewed himself and the contemporary economic conditions in Latin America. Cinematography is amazing, the acting is great (both from the main actors and the small roles too), the music is immersive and over all it’s a wonderful movie about a good person. Six popcorns and it goes into the Movie Vault.

Superhero Movie (2008)
Orphaned high school student Rick Riker is bitten by a radioactive dragonfly, develops super powers (except for the ability to fly), and becomes a hero.
While most parody movies are very very very bad and stupid, Superhero Movie feels a bit like a return to the first two Scary Movie titles. Some jokes are actually funny, there are some stars appearing in small roles or cameos, some decent impersonators and all in all is a decently made movie. Three popcorns, because the post-credit outtakes are almost funnier that the movie itself.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
When Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll and he has burned through eight of his nine lives, he launches an epic journey to restore them by finding the mythical Last Wish.
Classic DreamWorks movie: great animation, lovely spins on old fairy-tale characters, fun moments, sad moments, life lessons. This movie is fun for all kids aged 2 to 152. Plus the wolf scenes were scary as fuck, mad props for turning a bit towards the darkness. Action scenes are bonkers, glorious 12 frames per second, hyper-stylized with all the filters and gimmicks necessary to elevate the big set-pieces to something truly special and memorable. Five popcorns, no doubt.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
A middle-aged Chinese immigrant is swept up into an insane adventure in which she alone can save existence by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.
An overly pretentious piece of garbage. I love Michelle Yeoh, I loved her in Star Trek: Discovery, she was actually the only bearable person there, and maybe she deserved an Oscar. Not for this movie though. The editing might be cool at some point, but gets very tiring. The acting is over the top, the pacing is so chaotic, it looks like it was written by Justin Bieber’s monkey while on cocaine.
I get that the film is attempting to say something profound about life – being happy with the choices that we have made, having no regrets, and accepting others for who they are – but it’s hard to give a toss about any of that when faced with such relentless codswallop. โ BA_Harrison
I’d give this zero popcorn, because because it’s pretentious garbage that also got seven fucking Oscars lol, but it’ll break the popcorn display, so I’m gonna give it one. If there is an opposite of the Movie Vault, a “Movie Black Hole”, then this is the first movie to get on that list.
Seven Oscars. What a fucking joke.

A River Runs Through It (1992)
Two sons of a stern minister - one reserved, one rebellious - grow up in rural 1920s Montana while devoted to fly fishing.
Very good movie based on a novel, based on true events. Craig Sheffer and Brad Pitt do maybe the roles of their life. The casting is great, the chemistry between the characters (and the actors) is fantastic, the music is excellent and the cinematography is stunning (it even got an Oscar for that). It also marks the first notable role of Joseph Gordon Levitt.
All in all, a good blend of funny moments and real life situations, masterfully brought together by Robert Redford, which deserves six popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

Bill Russell: Legend (2023)
Features interviews and personal archives from the life and career of NBA legend Bill Russell.
To my shame, I had no idea about the existence, the life and work of Bill Russell. Once again, Netflix invests in a good sports documentary, one that features the work and fight of Bill Russell on and off court. The documentary is a pretty long one, close to three hours and a half, split in two parts. I definitely think this is a documentary to watch if you like basketball, care about social inequality, both, or neither.

Embrace of the Serpent // El abrazo de la serpiente (2015)
The story of the relationship between Karamakate, an Amazonian shaman and last survivor of his people, and two scientists who work together over the course of forty years to search the Amazon for a sacred healing plant.
This is a great road movie. The story is well-told, well filmed, and most of all, masterfully acted. Five popcorns.

Porco Rosso (1992)
In 1930s Italy, a veteran World War I pilot is cursed to look like an anthropomorphic pig.
Another fantastic animation from Studio Ghibli, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The story is simple, straight forward, with some tear jerking moments, the music is great, and the Japanese original voice actors are entertaining as always.
It gets six popcorns and a place into the Movie Vault.

Women Talking (2022)
Do nothing. Stay and fight. Or leave. The women of an isolated religious community grapple with reconciling a brutal reality with their faith.
Great female cast, the movie is a slow burn mixing the “why” and the “how it feels”. Inspired by true events, it has some shocking turns and spins.
Four popcorns and a good contender for “Best Movie” at the 2023 Oscars.

Station Eleven (2021-2022)
A post apocalyptic saga spanning multiple timelines, telling the stories of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost.
The story is great, the cinematography is excellent, but I loved the decaying state of the post-apocalyptic world and the way the stories unfolded into each other.
Six popcorns and a strong addition to the Movie Vault, especially since it has only ten episodes and an ending.
