Black Snake Moan (2008)
A God-fearing bluesman takes to a wild young woman who, as a victim of childhood sexual abuse, looks everywhere for love, never quite finding it.
Samuel L. Jackson playing the blues? Half-naked Christina Ricci chained to a radiator? Justin Timberlake as a failed jarhead? Sign me up! One of the best movies I’ve recently seen, gets six popcorns and gets into the Movie Vault.

Screamers (1995)
A military commander stationed off planet during an interplanetary war travels through the devastated landscape to negotiate a peace treaty, but discovers that the primitive robots they built to kill enemy combatants have gained sentience.
Great sci-fi drama/thriller. The pacing is good, the enemy is believable and the entire experience is worth the time. A good movie turned into a cult movie. All in all, five popcorn and jumps into the Movie Vault.
[Referring to the anti-radiation red cigarettes]
I can’t believe you’ve got to put this shit in your lungs just to neutralize the shit in your lungs.

Astronaut: The Last Push (2012)
When a tragic accident cuts short the first manned mission to explore life on the moons of Jupiter, Michael Forrest must make the 3 year journey home to Earth in pure solitude.
Great slow burning space drama about loneliness in space. Excellently acted, written and scored, as most movies with a small casst confined to a small space is. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

Rams (2018)
โRamsโ is the new documentary by filmmaker Gary Hustwit (Helvetica) about legendary designer Dieter Rams. For over fifty years, Rams has left an indelible mark on the field of product design with his iconic work at Braun and Vitsoe, and his influence on Apple. โRamsโ is a design documentary, but itโs also a rumination on consumerism, materialism, and sustainability. Dieter’s philosophy is about more than just design, itโs about a way to live. The film also features an original score by pioneering musician Brian Eno.
Excellent documentary about Jony Ive Dieter Rams. Definitely watch it. Five popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault. If you want to see it, support the filmmakers.

Ready or Not (2019)
A bride’s wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game.
Great fun movie, with a great cast, great locations, good suspense and a few nice scares. And a lot, a lot, a lot of blood. Four popcorns.

Timecrimes // Los Cronocrimenes (2007)
A man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.
This is a movie I’ve been putting away for ages, it’s a good drama sci-fi movie about time travel. It’s twisted, bendy and layered and will make you think “wtf” pretty much the entire time, and even at the end. If you’re stupid, like me, check this detailed explanation, with spoilers. Five popcorns.

Freejack (1992)
Bounty hunters from the future transport a doomed race car driver to New York City in 2009, where his mind will be replaced with that of a dead billionaire.
With a huge cast of A-list actors plus Mick Jagger, Freejack manages to impress not only with good acting and good dystopian future, but also with music, tension and writing. Directed by Geoff Murphy (The Quiet Earth), it feels like any classic late 80s - early 90s sci-fi movie, on par with Total Recall, Blade Runner, or Escape from New York. All in all, five popcorns and it’s one for the Movie Vault.
- What was it they called me?
- Pathetic?
- No, a freejack.

Spy/Master (2023)
Victor Godeanu, Ceausescu’s right-hand man, has a secret. He is also a KGB agent and must escape before he is discovered, so he will seize a valuable diplomatic opportunity.
Great spy drama, the real kind of spy, not 007, based on the defection of General Ion Mihai Pacepa. Great acting, great decors, and loved the 70s retro cars. Five poppcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault

The Fall (2013-2016)
A seemingly cold but very passionate policewoman goes head to head with a seemingly passionate father who is in fact a cold serial killer in this procedural out of Belfast. The only thing they share is their common complexity.
Just like with Happy Valley the Brits surely know how to do a great police drama. Just watch it, three quick seasons, great story, no loose ends. Six popcorns and jumps into the Movie Vault.

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash (2023)
Every country Jeremy, Richard and James want to visit is either a trouble hotspot, or has banned them from entering. Instead, they head to Central Europe, on a road trip nobody has ever thought of, in cars nobody would ever dream of using.
Just as always, the trio is up to stuff. Watch it, it’s almost two hours of great fun. Five popcorns.

Into the Night (2020-2021)
When radiation from the sun causes a global disaster on Earth, survivors on an overnight flight from Brussels race from city to city trying to stay ahead of the sun’s rays by remaining in the cover of night.
Very good two short seasons of post apocalyptic drama, hope this gets picked up again. All in all, five popcorns.

Black Mirror - Season 6 (2023)
Joan Is Awful
Fun quirky multi-layered episode, loved the meta-ness of it. Five popcorns.
Loch Henry
Dark, gritty, loved the performances. And holy fuck, my man Podrick got big. Six popcorns.
Beyond the Sea
Great performance by Aaron Paul, with good acting by Josh Hartnett and Kate Mara too, but it felt predictable, but with a good ending. Four popcorns.
Mazey Day
This is good up to a point, but it falls on the weird side. Four popcorns, but it doesn’t really feel like Black Mirror, but more like Twilight Zone.
Demon 79
Great mood throughout the entire episode and great acting from Anjana Vasan and Paapa Essiedu. Six popcorns.
General opinion on Season Six
While the show feels pretty strange, because the focus is not on technology that much on most episodes, it still delivers and is a solid entertainment source. While a bit gorey and unexpected at some points, it’s a good addition and it seems better than the previous season. Five stars in general and gets into the Movie Vault, as it’s always a good rewatch.
